Our Members - The Rocky Pups
Our members range from the recreational pet owners to the advanced handlers, and their dogs range from beginners to master athletes.
They don't pay to enter a trial, they don't ask to compete, and they don't care about placements or getting ribbons. They only care about the time they spend with us, pleasing their owner, and having fun. These are our furry friends and companions...
Apollo (Kristy & Aric)
Apollo is a Xoloitzcuintli (commonly called Mexican Hairless). He has tremendous speed on the agility course, but is still working on focusing on following his handler Kristy on course. His favorite obstacles are the tunnel, which increases his speed, and the A-frame, which gives him a great view of everything going on. He is a sensitive soul who loves cuddling and sun tanning in his downtime.
Baylee (Deanie)
Baylee is a 10 year old Bouvier who loves Rally Obediance and has just started in agility. But, don't let her age fool you as Baylee's already getting titles! See... you can teach an old dogs new tricks!
Cora (Dan)
Cora is an 11 year old Havanese. She loves agility, but prefers it in doors where the sun doesn't overheat her black hair.
Cry Baby - aka CB (Chris)
CB is a Pomeranian and is almost 6 years old. He loves agility and going on long walks near the Bow River in Edworthy Park. In 2016 he qualified for nationals in agility (6 inch veterans category), scoring 403 points in the Alberta-NWT regionals! If all goes well, CB will be in the Master’s level for all events by the end of the year!
Jaxx (Kristy)
Jaxx is a Miniature Schnauzer that loves running agility with his handler Kristy. They have been to the Agility Association of Canada Alberta/NWT Regionals five times and the AAC Canadian Nationals 2 times. They see many more Provincial and National competitions in their future! Jaxx is a steady little guy; he is not the fastest but is very consistent. He has a great time both at practice and on course during competition as long as Kristy is out there with him. They make a great team together!
Keir (Deb)
This little Cocker Spaniel is new to agility but you'd never know it by the way he flies through the air - go Keir go!
Keltie (Michelle)
Keltie is a 2 ½ year old Border Collie. Keltie just loves playing agility and is super-fast and fun to run!
Lexi (Carma)
Lexi (Tremolo Catch Me If You Can) is a Shetland sheepdog who has a love for the sport like no other. So much that she would rather choose her own course and let Carma run beside her. She reminds us all about what the sport teaches us: the importance of consistency, patience, but most importantly, to love the time we get to spend with our dogs, and not worry about the placements. Just have fun.
Lexi (Katerina and Chris)
Lexi was rescued in 2009 and we think she is around 8 years old. She is a mix of border collie, lab and shepherd. Lexi loves to jump up on everything and has a knack for balancing on anything. In 2014 Lexi was able to show off her talent on The Late Night Show with David Letterman where she climbed a ladder.
Lizzy (Katerina and Chris)
Lizzy is a 10 year old Standard Poodle. Lizzy is always wagging her tail and is happy doing anything, but her favorite things to do are to get pet, eat and sleep.
Lola (Vanessa)
Lola is now 11 years old and in “semi-retirement”. Some days she’s fast….other days she takes her time. Her only aversion is the teeter – so jumpers, steeplechase, and gamble have become her classes of choice.
Maggie (Vanessa)
Maggie is a Yorkie-Poo who loves agility, swimming, and going for walks at the off-leash parks. Don’t let her size fool you – she thinks she is a “big dog”. She is back to running agility after suffering a spinal stroke at age 5, in 2015 which left her partially paralyzed on her right side. We're all glad to see this little wonder back in action.
Pablo (Dan & Miranda)
Pablo is a Havanese who is known for his high-flying jumps. He started agility young, but didn’t start competing with his handlers, Dan and Miranda, until the age of 4. Pablo’s getting older and likes to take his time and enjoy all of his runs, but he still loves the sport and always runs with a smile.
Sharlie (Carolle)
Carolle and her aussiedoodle (All Cdn) dog "Sharlie" are earning qualifying scores in their first year of trialling. Watch them tear up the course!
Skye (Evelyne)
Skye, the very cavalier, Cavalier King Charles, loves agility. Currently she is working on becoming more focused in the ring!
Tessa (Michelle)
Tessa is a 9 ½ year old Shih Tzu Poodle who is my first agility dog. I have learned a lot about the game from her. She is slow and steady but likes to play when she can.
Toby (Carma)
Toby (Tollwest Sugar Daddy) is a 2 year old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. He is new to agility, but is learning to love the game quickly. His exuberance for life is something special; whatever is thrown at him, whether it is agility, nose work or more recently chase ability, he is willing to do with a hop, skip and a jump, or most times, at full speed.
Velcro (Kim)
Whizzard (Deanie)
Zoey (Michelle)
Zoey is a 5 year old Shih Tzu Poodle. Zoey is having a sabbatical from agility at the moment but hope to run her again soon!
